“Big Mama”      [ Pricing & Details ]

"Big Mama" is a busy woman. She does all kinds of work: field work, house work, raising babies, chopping wood, and cutting and packing vegetables to sell.  No time to sit down for "Big Mama."  She is fifty-nine now and capable of out-working youngsters half her age.

The base for this piece consists of a piece of wood originally used in Savannah’s old City Market area.  Its next life was as a bleacher step at Savannah State University.  Finally it has found a home as the base for the sturdy "Big Mama."
